Inhoudelijke beschrijving: Among the buildings represented is the Radio Corporation of America (RCA) Building, the RCA exhibition building at the Fair. RCA — Radio Corporation of America — played an important role in the 1939 World's Fair, particularly in demonstrating the new technology of television. The dedication of the RCA Exhibit Building on April 20, 1939, was itself televised, an important early milestone in television broadcasting. The straight upper edge has a sewn-on felt strip forming a narrow tunnel or sleeve. This construction allowed the pennant to be slipped over a thin rod or mast, and is consistent with the use of small souvenir pennants as automobile antenna decorations. Such antenna pennants were a recognised type of American automobile souvenir. The reverse is mottled and stained. This appears consistent with the pennant having previously been mounted or pasted into an album, probably as a collected souvenir. The front remains comparatively attractive and retains its original decorative
Specifieke beschrijving: Good overall considering age, with noticeable staining/discolouration to the reverse. The front displays well. The sewn antenna sleeve remains present. No maker's or manufacturer's mark has been identified.
